Letter from the State:
Wanted to let everyone know about a few changes to the way we are going to try to get information out to you this year.  During our Executive Planning Retreat this past weekend, it was determined that a more collective and streamlined method of e-mail communication was needed this year.  To that end, the following changes have been made:
1) We have changed the name of the monthly newsletter.  The Monday Morning Memo name seems to imply that it comes out every Monday morning, and that does not apply to the newsletter.  To reduce confusion with this, and to bring back a little Jaycee history & nostalgia, we have renamed the monthly newsletter to be called the TNJC Pioneer.  The first edition of the new Pioneer will be coming out soon.  This will include a new logo, a little change in the approach of content, and a more open forum for you all to submit material to be published.  Deadlines for this publication has also changed, with articles being due by the 25th of every month and the edition being sent out by the 1st of the month.  Please submit chapter events, state events, articles of importance, programming articles, etc. to me via e-mail by this deadline and I will ensure it gets into the publication, with a little editing of course.
2) We will be utilizing the Monday Morning Memo as a weekly update and emphasis communication vehicle.  Each Monday of the year, with the exception of weeks the Pioneer is to be released, there will be an e-mail sent out to you with bullet point items of importance for that week.  It may be important dates to remember, chapter events that week, reminders of near future deadlines, a recap of important events the previous week, chapter letters of thanks for help / visitations for a project that previous week, etc.  This weekly e-mail is to give you a quick reference to things that were discussed in more detail in the Pioneer and this will also be your forum to get important events out if you missed the Pioneer deadline.  It is also a chance for project chairmen / chapter presidents to thank those who helped make the weekend projects a success.  The deadline for submitting information to the MMM will be 8 am on Monday mornings.  The edition will be sent out by Noon on that same Monday.
There will be times when an immediate e-mail or forwarded e-mail will be deemed necessary to send out, but we hope these two publications will help reduce the number of individual e-mails you receive from state office and provide you with the same information in a more concise, manageable e-mail that you can print and keep as a reference for the next week / month.
The 2010 Executive Team is looking forward to a very successful and productive year and we need your help and input to make that happen.  At any time, feel free to contact any one of us and we will make the effort to get the information you need or want.  The team, as it stands right, now consists of the following:
Susan Sumner - Chairman of the Board
Bethany Huffman - Past Chairman of the Board
Toni Lavigne - Business Vice President
Gary L. Carter - Central Regional Director
Shannon Parton - Community Vice President (upon BOD approval)
Paul Ottinger - Director of Operations
The information for any of these officers is available in the 2009 Keyman (until a new addition can be produced)  or you can contact me for their information for the time being.  A full list of their contact information will be submitted in the 1st edition of the MMM next week.
Once again, we are looking forward to a very successful and productive year and look forward to working with you all this year.  And a reminder, get a jump start for the year by attending the Local Officers Training Seminar (open to all Jaycees regardless of holding a local office) in Murfreesboro on January 23, beginning at 9 am at the Consolidated Utilities District building on Salem Highway.  The full agenda will be sent out very soon.
